 SIXT was founded in Munich Germany, in 1912. In 1972 SIXT rent a car brand name was well known all over Germany with multiple rental location in all-major towns and airports. In 1986 Sixt goes public under the name of SIXT AG, the success continues and the company signs contracts with major Tour Operators, airlines and hotel chains as exclusive or preferred partner. Since 1997 the fastest growing car rental company goes global opening corporate or franchise stations all over Europe, Australia, New Zealand and a lot more come every day...
 LION Rental S.A. is the exclusive licensee of the SIXT brand name in Greece. The company was founded in September 1998 and started its full operation in January 1999. The successful development starts with the opening of five rental locations in Athens, today 112 locations of which covers all major Greek destinations in mainland, most of the islands, and major airports and continues the expansion, providing SIXT services to the car rental customers.
 A dynamic entrance in the market means a fleet of over 8.500 brand new cars and about 9.000 for 2008, which are regularly renewed (current average fleet age is 7 months and our fleet renewal policy is 12 months). Additionally, LION RENTAL is active in the long-term rental business providing the benefit to companies to have a brand new fleet of cars of their own preference, by paying only a monthly rate for three or five years.
SIXT is in general an innovator in the car rental business introducing everyday, profitable, customer-oriented products. Aggressive marketing strategies, important co-operation, and use of technological improvements are some of the elements of our success, but most important is the SIXT SERVICE. |
